In Loving Memory Of
Raymond Williams
“Butchie”
Raymond Williams was a strong-willed, resilient, kindhearted, and intelligent man who genuinely loved life. He enjoyed exploring, trying new things, listening to music, and being around people. Life did not always unfold the way he may have hoped, but those who truly knew him knew that beneath his strength was a good man with a caring heart who wanted the people around him to feel happy and comfortable.

01 · His Story
A Life of Strength and Service
Raymond proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. On November 1, 1973, he earned the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.
The discipline of the Marine Corps remained part of him throughout his life, including teaching his daughter how to make a bed with proper military folds. In his house, those corners needed to be crisp.
He was also extremely strong and athletic, with interests that included football, basketball, track, golf, soccer, hiking, and exploring. His athletic spirit passed directly to Teefa, who grew up participating in many of the same activities.
02 · Joy & Companionship
Memories That Still Make Us Smile
Raymond loved telling jokes and making people laugh. One of his signature talents was wiggling his ears, something he proudly demonstrated throughout his life. Even during his final days in the hospital, he wiggled them for the nurses, bringing laughter and joy into the room.
They were truly two peas in a pod.
His lifelong love for dogs was especially evident in the bond he shared with Shaka, his beloved Doberman Pinscher and best friend. Raymond always had a funny story to share about Shaka. They were truly two peas in a pod, and Shaka brought him companionship, loyalty, and happiness during his final years.
Finding Shaka a new home after Raymond became ill was one of the hardest things Teefa had to do, but she made that decision out of love for them both. Shaka is now safe, cared for, and surrounded by love, which would have mattered deeply to her dad.
03 · Their Music
The Soundtrack of a Father and Daughter
Music was woven throughout Raymond and Teefa’s relationship. One of their special songs was “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, which they would sing and dance to together. During one of their final moments in the hospital, Teefa played another favorite, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears. Raymond began waving his hands and moving to the music, allowing father and daughter to share one final dance. The music reached him, and their connection spoke when words no longer could.

04 · A Daughter’s Tribute
From His Only Daughter
Daddy,
Our relationship, like every real relationship, had imperfect chapters, but there was never a moment when I did not love you to the very core of my heart.
You were my only dad, my only daddy, and I have always looked up to you. I admired your strength, your intelligence, your resilience, and the way you approached life. So much of who I am exists because of what you placed inside me.
You taught me to stand up for myself and never accept less than I deserve. You taught me that my presence speaks before I ever say a word, and that the way I present myself can communicate confidence and command respect. You taught me how to dress with intention, remain feminine, and walk into every room knowing that I belong and that no one on this earth is above me.
You encouraged me to travel extensively, explore the world, stay curious, and live fully. You taught me how to care for the people I love. You taught me strength, discipline, courage, and value.
I will cherish every memory, from riding high on your back and dancing on your feet, to singing our favorite songs and sitting beside you in the hospital as we shared one final dance.
Thank you for being my daddy. Thank you for the lessons, the laughter, the music, the strength, and the love.
Everything you taught me continues through me.
I love you, Daddy. I always have, and I always will.
Your only daughter,
Teefa
